Setting up the home page featured post tabber ↑ Back to Top
To enable the homepage featured post tabber go to: Headlines > Settings > Featured Panel and check the ‘Enable Featured’ checkbox to show the featured panel on the front page:
Next, set a Featured Tag. For the demo we created a tag called “featured” then used the same tag on the posts we would like to show up in the featured panel. You can then specify exactly how many featured entries you want to scroll through.
Adding an image for the featured slider and post thumbnails ↑ Back to Top
To enable the images for the featured slides, homepage thumbnails and archive blog posts to display correctly you need to add an image via the Headlines Settings panel viewable below your blog/page post form in the WordPress backend.
The Headlines Settings panel will like the screenshot below:
To set a custom thumbnail image in the Headlines Settings Panel, use the Upload button to upload a image, then Save. The image will be automatically resized for the featured slider (if required) and the post thumbnails.
Please note the image resizer can resize an image to a smaller size, but cannot stretch an image to be bigger than the uploaded size.
Layout Options ↑ Back to Top
To set the Layout Options, go to: Headlines > Settings > Layout Options.
You can add social bookmarks to the bottom of single posts and select to display either an excerpt or the full post content on the home page and in the category archives. If you select full post content you can create your own break using the post ‘Read More’ tag.
Add your twitter username to automatically place your latest tweet in the header space, next to the logo.
Please note: this will replace your banner ad if you have assigned one.
The Social Bookmarks at the bottom of the single post page will allow visitors of your site to share the post on their own social network.
The Headlines unique font used is “Liberation Sans“.
